We have been really, really busy working for our Community this past year.
Most of your committee has been driving this for a few decades, and have achieved huge gains, at times at great personal cost. We would be beyond delighted to have an injection of enthusiastic members to drive some of your and our collective goals.
Younger members are also encouraged, it is your future community.

Peter Murrell Reserve
-
The President has had multiple communications with Parks and Wildlife who manage this reserve. The present situation is they are not interested in negotiating. TRAC committee has stepped back from negotiating on this matter as Parks and Wildlife responses have been negative, minimal and non-commital. Therefore it would require an approach to the Minister or a public push to progress the situation (TRAC discussing further).
-
-
Petition to Council via a "Question on Notice " to provide 4 missing links.
-
The Missing links
-
Stage 2 NWBRT to Hopfields Road. This has come to fruition, Thanks to a generous undertaking by Mr Tim Wark, which includes also the wonderful float parking area.
-
A trail segment joining Englefield Road and Hillview Drive. Now installed.

-
North West Bay River Trail (NWBRT)
-
A huge undertaking over decades of work from TRAC
-
Stage 1. NWBRT. This came into serious consideration thru the Kingborough Tracks and Trails (TRAC) meetings circa 2008. In 2016 we pushed to open up a public open space (POS) at the end of Riverdale Road. The NWBRT feasibly study went to Council around 2020 with some adjustments to the POS, a Land Tribunal challenge, more negotiations...... Mountain Trails established Stage 1. in approx. 2022
-
Stage 2. NWBRT. The concept of this trail was imaged in the mid 1990s when TRAC sought POS thru Council when Brookfield owners applied for subdivision. After many years Council facilitated this section that links Channel Highway to Miandetta Road, with a connection to Hopfields Road and a float area included.
-
Stage 3. NWBRT. This is by far the biggest section of the NWBRT, connecting Stage 1 and Stage 2 and likely to be the most costly, most challenging both topographically and construction wise. Council has no allocated funds to establish it, so State / Federal funding will need to be acquired. In this Economic climate that may be some time, and hard to come by. The Committee feel that this trail will be the show piece of trails in Kingborough, also the longest, and without vehicles.
-
Allenfield to Riverdale Road. In conjunction with Stage 3. TRAC committee would like to see a link from the underpass at Allenfield to Riverdale. It would join Leslie Vale to Allen's Rivulet. This would be nearly entirely on HBMI land.
-
- Loop joining Bullock Drive to Mackenzie Road in Leslie Vale
- Council has provided a loop joining Bullock Drive to Mackenzie Road that was part of negotiations from the 1990s, that came about via subdivison.
- Funding
- TRAC acquired funding via grant application to purchase chain saws etc for track clearing working bees (now available)
